David Vernon grew up in a pastor’s home then served twenty-five years in the pastorate in southwest Texas. He has a BA in Religion from Baylor University and an MDIV from Southwestern Seminary. He is an Honorary Alumnus at Truett Seminary. He spent sixteen years working in a gun store in Austin and retired at the end of January 2026.



He published ‘Lord Remember Me – A Fresh Look at the Life of Samson’ in the summer of 2025. He is married to Susanna and they have two adult children and one granddaughter. He and Susanna live in Round Rock, Texas. His hobbies include reloading, and a spring and fall garden. He enjoys trying to sing with the Singing Men of Texas – South.
