Learn About the Life of Samson
Welcome to Lord Remember Me, based on a book by David Vernon, which presents a new, fresh, and faith‑centered look at the life of Samson. We look at several misconceptions about Samson, including the origin of his name, his incredible strength without looking strong, his supposed breaking of the vow numerous times, surprising facts about Samson as the only person named in God's Word as being a Nazirite, and the parallels with Samson and John the Baptist.

Why Samson
When people are asked what they know about Samson, they respond that he’s the guy in the Bible who had long hair, tremendous strength, and who fell for Delilah, who gave Samson a really bad haircut! No one mentions the prayer of Samson.
To understand the prayer of Samson, an examination of Judges 13-16 is needed. Given his interesting story, there’s little doubt that Samson is extremely relevant today.

About David
A Texas pastor for over two decades, David Vernon said he had never preached about Samson because all he did was chase women. He added that he had yet to find anyone who had spoken about Samson and his relationship with God until he came across the man’s lonely prayer, which led to the writing of Lord Remember Me: A Fresh Look at the Life of Samson.
The Prayer
Not many know that Samson has a special prayer to God, and that’s because no one has mentioned it at length. The prayer has been described as ‘a sad and pitiful end to a tragic life.’ In the book, we want to show that Samson’s prayer was also about God’s grace, forgiveness, and power because Samson prayed for the impossible and God answered his prayer.
The Book
In Lord Remember Me: A Fresh Look at the Life of Samson, some of the issues addressed through the life of Samson that apply to our lives today include the importance of a strong and vibrant prayer life, the sanctity of the life of the unborn, being set apart by God for ordination, the work of the Spirit of the Lord in our lives, honesty in relationships, unconditional lust instead of love, perception versus reality, cooperating in God’s work, God’s punishment for evil, taking our relationship with the Lord for granted, making decisions not based on what other people think, and seeking what God desires in our lives as we serve Him.
